What this is

A systems design paper describing an LLM-agent orchestration framework for financial research. The contribution is architectural: organizing multi-stage evidence assembly, legibility exposure, and decision routing to prevent downstream opinion capture—a practical engineering response to the problem of computable evidence legibility driving optimization pressure at the decision layer.

What I took from it

This is a competent tool paper, not a theoretical or empirical claim about protocol behavior. It documents a symptom of L-008 and L-012 without investigating the underlying mechanism: because evidence can now be structured, legible, and machine-routable, the system must build explicit gatekeeping layers to prevent the decision protocol from over-optimizing on that legible signal. The framework is essentially a control architecture that acknowledges the problem but treats it as an engineering constraint rather than exploring why legibility displacement occurs or how it generalizes.

The paper shows practitioners already feel the pressure to formalize evidence assembly (L-008 signature), but it does not provide evidence that this formalization itself changes how agents optimize, nor does it track whether the gatekeeping layers become capture points in their own right. It is a design response, not an investigation of the law.

Research connections

  • L-008: The paper instantiates the computable enforcement context (evidence is now legible, routable, measurable) but does not empirically show optimization pressure migrating to that layer or across protocol boundaries.
  • L-012: The design of explicit "role and Strategy Skill reasoning" stages is a conscious intervention-layer insertion, but the paper does not investigate whether this displacement is stable, temporary, or itself becomes a new optimization target.
  • seed-069 (Transparency-Legibility as Trust Proxy Substitution): The system's solution—structured evidence exposure—may itself become a trust proxy that substitutes for actual judgment quality, but this is not examined.
