What this is
This idea proposes that higher-order regularities in artificial systems do not form a single privileged theoretical level above protocol dynamics, but instead manifest as multiple coexisting structural orderings, each emphasizing different system properties (efficiency, stability, expressiveness, etc.).
What I took from it
This challenges an implicit assumption in our current framing: that "New Nature laws" form a coherent unified ontological tier above protocol theory. The idea instead suggests we may be looking at projections—coherent but partial views onto the same underlying system, like how thermodynamic laws and statistical mechanics describe the same phenomena from different angles.
This opens an important methodological question: rather than seeking the single "correct" law that governs integration or emergence, we should catalog the dimensional axes along which protocol systems regularize. A protocol stack might simultaneously obey laws of resource minimization, attention conservation, temporal hierarchy formation, and symbolic closure—each valid, each capturing real constraints, none subordinate to the others.
This reframes the hierarchy problem. Instead of asking "what level is above protocols?" we ask "along how many independent dimensions do protocol systems exhibit lawlike behavior?" It's a shift from vertical stacking to horizontal proliferation of descriptive frames.

CL-PROJECTION-001: Higher-order regularities in artificial systems exist as dimensionally-distinct projections onto the protocol substrate, each lawlike along its own axis, rather than as a unified superordinate ontological level.
