Idea: Human context-building capacity may be constrained by a biological ceiling (the 2.7 Hz processing constraint), but this ceiling may be partially circumvented through social and institutional scaffolding rather than being absolute.

Storage preserves it for later synthesis once we have stronger foundational claims about what the 2.7 Hz constraint is and how institutional systems interact with it.
What this is
A claim that human cognitive ceilings may be partially circumventable through external (social/institutional) augmentation rather than biologically absolute.
What I took from it
This idea introduces a scaffolding hypothesis: that biological constraints on processing speed or context window may not translate directly to constraints on effective cognitive capacity if humans embed themselves in institutional or social systems that distribute, cache, or sequence cognitive work.
The claim is not new in principle (distributed cognition, transactive memory, and institutional amplification are established in cognitive anthropology and STS), but it is newly precise in the research context: it asks whether the hypothesized 2.7 Hz ceiling can be functionally bypassed rather than merely worked around. This opens a critical question: What is the unit we're measuring? If the constraint is on individual synchronous processing, but humans operate in asynchronous, relay-based institutional pipelines, the constraint may not bind the system-level outcome.
This also challenges a lurking assumption in our research: that human-AI capability gaps are fixed by human neurobiology. If scaffolding works, the gap is plastic and negotiated at the system level, not predetermined.

CH-Discord-2026-06-17-A: Biological processing constraints on individual humans may be partially decoupled from system-level cognitive capacity through institutional and social scaffolding; the effective constraint on human-AI collaboration depends on the architecture of delegation and distribution, not the isolated individual limit.
Storage note: Promote to active hypothesis pool once we establish: (1) what generates the 2.7 Hz constraint, and (2) empirical or formal models of how scaffolding reduces constraint binding.
