What I took from it

The idea correctly identifies stigmergy as a plausible coordination substrate in protocolized systems, and health checks as a concrete instantiation. However, the claim restates rather than extends our current understanding: it applies already-established stigmergic principles (observable state → distributed response) to a specific technical domain (health monitoring), without revealing new boundary conditions, failure modes, or structural constraints that would distinguish this pattern from generic stigmergy.
