What this is
A tool paper introducing an LLM-based simulator (Agentic Bipolar Argumentation Simulator) for stress-testing deliberative polling protocols. The work addresses the "coverage problem"—ensuring representative argument exposure—but frames this as an engineering challenge of protocol design rather than a theoretical investigation of emergent constraints in collective decision systems.
What I took from it
This is a protocol evaluation apparatus, not a primary theory paper. The six-tuple formalization of deliberative polling is a useful notation choice, but the paper's contribution is instrumental: it builds a testbed for comparing information-curation mechanisms. The adversarial/strategic electorate framing suggests awareness of gaming dynamics, but the abstract does not indicate whether the simulator discovered failure modes that generalize beyond deliberative polling, or merely confirmed that coverage degrades under predictable conditions.
The work is relevant to our inventory insofar as it treats collective decision protocols as designable systems with measurable failure surfaces—but it does not appear to derive or test laws governing why those surfaces exist, or propose mechanisms that would apply across different protocol architectures.

Candidate laws or signals
CL-2606-01: Coverage-Completeness Trade-off in Information-Mediated Protocols — As argument spaces scale or adversarial participation increases, no single-pass curation mechanism can guarantee both representative exposure and decision velocity without external constraints on agent budget or argument cardinality.
Note: Candidate only if simulator data shows this holds across multiple protocol variants, not just deliberative polling.
